Journaling for Health

Research has shown that keeping a record of reflections on the days activities can have positive physical health effects.   Journaling, whether in a diary, notebook, computer, or on a piece of paper, can

lower blood pressure
reduce depression
decrease the symptoms of asthma
improve cognitive functioning
strengthen the immune system and
reduce stress

People who keep journals are twice as likely to lose weight and the benefits of weight loss are

improved blood sugars
prevention of diabetes
lowering of blood pressure
improved lung function and
improved sleep patterns

Journal writing is an art form that will help you get in touch with your “Authentic Self”.   Set aside at least an hour a day for journal writing. Sometimes you will want to share your journal post with a social community and sometimes you will want to keep it private.   You do have a choice.    Interact with each others journal entries.   It can be life-changing.
